REI trip

Because we haven’t even started our trip….. and likelihood that these pre-trip posts are probably pretty lame to read……. ill keep this one short and sweet

On Sunday we ventured out to the monster outdoor gear store in Conshohocken PA, called REI, to tackle a checklist of items for the trip. Although REI is quite overwhelming at first, we were able to find what we needed …..in a little under three hours...yes THREE hours
This included items such as:
Long johns
Fishing vests
Hiking shoes
Rubber fingerless gloves….NICE!
Long brimmed hats with dark underside
Medium cushion socks
Floating croakies
Bug spray with MINIMUM at least 90% deet (N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide, , abbreviated DEET,is the most common active ingredient in insect repellents. )
ETC....

Due to the emphasis they make on bug spray, I actually contemplated buying this hat

When it was all said and done, my dad and I walked out of there looking like a cross b/t the crocodile hunter and Indiana Jones.
We don’t leave till Thursday, so expect another post sometime around then.

P.S .
On a side note, prior to our shopping, we had a quick stop at the Conshohocken diner for some "old fashion/authentic" breakfast. Note to self….avoid the Conshohocken diner if you can.
