Day 5: A river runs through it

we woke up this morning to another day in Alaska…..party cloudy with a chance of rain…etc…etc…etc…

we took off from camp headed for “Vision” but ended up for the “Dome Waters”….fog was a “clear” factor but due to some good pilots, with some nards, we were able to push forward to one of the most desirable locations in the bush… Dome Water…

for those who thought we were sipping tea and crumpets…today was the polar opposite. an hour hike through thick bear infested brush to a nirvana-like river. the walk echoed “hey bear, da bears” in anticipation of what nobody wanted to see…finally we arrived at our spot…….unlike anything any of us have ever seen.

see below for pictures of the hike…..all worth it

what followed was some of the best fishing we have had…who would have thought it could have topped the prior day. below are some of the pictures….not sure how put our day in words but….hopefully below can help

Raining here this morning...thought of you guys. The scenery is so beautiful, rain on the back of a building, water dripping off of the air conditioner from the apartment above you.
You look like you are having an amazing time! The blog is great. Love all of your pictures.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the scenery is breathtaking and you survived flying in the fog, so the fishing is amazing and you didn't get pulled overboard or have heart attacks reeling them in, so you risked life and limb crossing the stream, so you've seen whales, dolphins and Trevor looked death in the eye when he saw the bear...I saw little teeth marks in a peach I left on the counter overnight! Now...THAT'S scary! But even scarier is the fact that I finally figured out how to leave a comment!! Watch out! Love to "Da boys of summer."

Looks like you guys are having an awesome trip. I'm jealous. Especially of Trevor's stash. Do you store any leftovers in that thing? A little snack might come in handy when you're out in the bush.

Seriously, thanks for sharing your adventures.

How can I get the phone numbers of your guides? They are sexy. What is that in his mouth?

Hey, where's the sun in Alaska? Now we also know why they emphasized "bring the best rain gear" over and over!! Great day, great pictures...those really add to the blog.
Well, guess I'm going to have to give up the old Keating story about how "we never catch fish, only sand sharks"...good riddance to that story!!
I had been wondering where Patty was..good to have you on the blog comments...yours was as funny as the blog!
Love you all, marianne
